Advantages of Konti-Cut Simulations in orthogonal cutting

1. It avoids possible convergence and contact problems when the long chip curls down and touches the uncut workpiece surface.


2. Approximate steady state solutions of chip flow and state variables (workpece temperature and tool chip interface temperature) can be obtained.


3. Better control of refined mesh quality is achieved and fewer elements are required.
